The hosts

The hosts at Koefoed is Michael & Marie Rønnebæk-Rørth, who both have worked many years in the restaurant business and besides the restaurant have little son named Viggo, who is 2½ years.

"For us the most important thing is the experience we give our guests", says Marie and continues: "Our guests should leave Koefoed with a sense of excellent taste, comfort, service and a sense of laid-back. There should be something familiar and something surprising. That is why we always have a bit of extra luxury for our guests, both concerning food and décor." Marie is 35 years old, originally from Odense and is responsible for administration and parties at Koefoed. Michael is a trained waiter and is from the sunny island, Bornholm, where he already as a teenager started in the restaurant business as a washer-up. He has not since left the business and unlike Marie, he is on working the floor in the restaurant. "I love being a restaurateur giving my guests an extraordinary experience. Seeing guests leaving with content stomach and mind, gives me energy to do it all over again the following evening", says Michael, who also thinks being restaurateur is a lifestyle. "There are not many hours during day and night, where I don't consider menus, optimization of the kitchen, wine, the well-being of our staff etc. And after Marie has joined Koefoed, we spend a lot of time at home discussing Koefoed, which is perfectly ok, since the restaurant is our life dream".

Michael is 32 years old and is from Bornholm. He has worked as a waiter at Hotel Fredensborg, the Oslo boat and the Custom House in Allinge.
